The JRC-IRMM is now fully accredited for its services to confidence in measurements

7 August, 2013

The JRC-IRMM has been informed on 30 July 2013 by BELAC, the Belgian Accreditation Body, that the extension of existing accreditations for two IRMM scientific units is now granted to the whole institute with extended scopes.

Thereby, formal competence accreditations have been obtained for a wide range of measurements according to ISO/IEC 17025, for the production of reference materials according to ISO Guide 34 and for the organisation of proficiency tests according to ISO/IEC 17043.

This is an important recognition of the capabilities of JRC-IRMM which strengthens its international position in delivering measurement standards and quality assurance tools for the implementation and monitoring of EU policies. It is based on the quality management system and culture developed in Geel over the years with contributions from many and the involvement of all staff.
