JRC scientists in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology report on the precise measurement of prompt spectral fission gamma-rays from the spontaneous fission of 252Cf. The new data renders possible further advancement towards a safe and economically viable energy supply. Based on the new data the scientists strongly recommend updating present evaluated nuclear data files.
