The need for training is generated by the requirement set by the ISO/IEC 17025 standard regarding the competence of laboratories. As a majority of laboratories participating in IMEP are accredited against this standard, many of them need training to improve their capacity to demonstrate measurement traceability, estimate uncertainty and perform validation.
In co-operation with international/national organisations, IRMM offers training activities to participants who request additional support after the completion of the respective IMEP comparison.
Furthermore IRMM has set up an IMEP EDUCATIONAL web site to share experiences amongst IMEP participants about the problems encountered concerning their measurement performance in an IMEP comparison.
