EUFRAT - how to apply
-
Applicants who meet the eligibility conditions can submit a proposal.
Applications must be submitted to the Project Coordinator via the functional
mailbox, , using the standard application
form. To better prepare the proposal, applicants are advised to contact
the relevant person at
IRMM in advance.
-
At each closing date, the proposals are submitted to the Programme Advisory
Commitee (PAC) for evaluation. The PAC selects the experiments following
well-defined criteria.
-
For approved experiments, the PAC designates the best-suited experimental
set-up and/or flight path. The PAC also defines the financial limits for user
support. Typically, support for travel, subsistence and accommodation can be
provided for two researchers per experiment, during two experimental weeks at
GELINA or one week at the Van de Graaff.
-
Next, successful applicant user groups will receive a letter of invitation
from IRMM. All experimental and logistic details of an experiment must be
discussed in advance with the local contact designated by the PAC, who will
guide the external user group during the experiment.
-
At the end of the experiment, the user group leader must submit to the Project
Coordinator a short user report. Within one month after finishing the
experiment each supported user submits to IRMM a statement of expenses.
Justified costs will be reimbursed by IRMM according the EUFRAT reimbursement
rules.
-
Supported users must publish their results, preferably in peer-reviewed
scientific journals. They must acknowledge the support from the EC-EURATOM
through EUFRAT.
