European Research Area - collaborations and networks

JRC-IRMM participates in the activities of the international metrology organisations such as the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) and the association of European metrology institutes (EURAMET). In collaboration with the European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA), JRC-IRMM helps to improve the measurement capabilities of hundreds of laboratories in all Member States. JRC-IRMM staff also contribute actively to the work of standardisation bodies like the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The JRC-IRMM operates four European Union reference laboratories (EU-RLs), formerly called Community reference laboratories. IRMM is an active member of many scientific networks such as:
