The European Union Reference Laboratory for Heavy Metals in Feed and Food contributing to the implementation of high quality and uniform analytical results, has organises a proficiency test on the determination of total and inorganic As in wheat, vegetable food and algae.
The main objective of this exercise is to evaluate the capabilities of nominated national reference laboratories and control laboratories in the area of food and feed in the determination of total and inorganic As.
Test materials and analytes
The test materials to be analysed are wheat, vegetable food and algae. One bottle/material/participant will be sent to the participants in May 2011. The measurands are total and inorganic As.
General outline of the exercise
Participants are requested to perform two or three independent analyses using the method of their choice.
